New in 2023 – Grass Roots Extreme Cowboy!

Join us on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 9:00 AM to catch the new Extreme Cowboy Races!

Grass Roots Extreme Cowboy is an affiliate of the Extreme Cowboy Association (EXCA) and offers Extreme Cowboy events throughout Ontario.

At Grass Roots Extreme Cowboy events horses and riders of all levels are welcome to participate and enjoy the challenge of ranch type obstacles and tasks while using their horsemanship skills. The EXCA has been specifically designed to invite riders of all levels to join in and enjoy the “fastest growing equine sport”, The Extreme Cowboy Challenge! 2022 Ambassadors for Sutton Fair

The Sutton Fair Ambassador competition was held on Thursday afternoon in a very warm pavilion. Winners were announced following the opening ceremonies. Congratulations to Abbie Velocci – Senior Ambassador for Sutton Fair 2022 and Emily Cryderman – Senior Runner up. Abbie will represent the Sutton Agricultural Society locally and provincially for a year. Abbie will also represent Sutton at the Ontario Ambassador of Fairs competing at the CNE in 2023. Visit with the Ambassadors this weekend at the various attractions and activities during the 2022 Sutton Fair and Horse Show.

2022 Junior Ambassadors for Sutton Fair

Congratulations to Makenna Coates, Junior Ambassador for Sutton Fair 2022 and Avery Clarke, Junior Runner Up. Junior Ambassadors will be attending activities all throughout the fair weekend. Meet them at Zoo to You, Aqua Dogs, Frog Jumping Contest and the Demo Derby.

New Format For Baby Show 2022

The Baby Show at the fair is an annual tradition which will continue despite these times.

Given all the risk factors, we’ve decided to produce a safe show. Being away due to the pandemic has given the committee some perspective and an opportunity to switch up the program. There will be a Baby Show at the Sutton Fair in 2022. The show won’t be like it was before.

We’ve missed the fair and can’t wait to get back! We recognize that all situations are different and require their assessment of risk.

Risk Factors:

COVID-19 continues as a global pandemic.
Babies can’t be vaccinated.
The Baby Show is in close quarters, even in the arena.

We recognize that some people are uncomfortable with a gathering of this type. Nobody wants to be responsible for possibly getting anyone else sick.

The committee has worked hard to create a new program where we can honour our traditions and still show community spirit. Instructions are clear, we’re getting the word out, and people are looking forward to the Baby Show at Sutton Fair. The entry form can be filled out online and printed. See the Baby Show contest page for rules and categories.

Photos of your babies will be submitted to the fair in person one day before the fair starts. Friday is judging day. Winners in each category will be announced at the fair.

Art students will decorate a large wall in the arena that is usually blank. Then, they will create an art installation featuring all the Baby Show contestants.

Please note that the categories have changed this year for diversity and inclusion.

Friday is judging day.

Visitors can vote on the overall people’s choice award at the Baby Show art installation fair. Voting is open to all fair attendees.

Come to the fair and vote. The program is sponsored and provides a grand prize and participant prizes.

For privacy reasons, the committee will destroy photos submitted after the conclusion of the 2022 Sutton Fair.

Sutton Fair Returns for 2022 Full Scale Fair

After a long break, we’re back and ready to celebrate our agricultural heritage with our community. The global pandemic has kept us apart over the past two years, but we’re ready to have a fair again. Plans are underway and include all the attractions you’ve missed, plus a few surprises.

Cancellation of 2021 Sutton Fair

With much sadness, the Board of Directors of the Sutton Agricultural Society announce the cancellation of the 2021 Sutton Fair and Horse Show, originally scheduled for August 5, 6, 7, & 8 20210.

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, the decision to cancel the 2021 fair was made using all the information currently available through government orders and public health advice. The health and safety of our volunteers, visitors, vendors and the community is our primary concern.

For 164 years, the Sutton Fair and Horse Show has been an annual tradition in our community, and we look forward to continuing that tradition for many years to come. We will be back to celebrate the 165th Sutton Fair & Horse Show on August 5, 6, 7 & 8, 2022, and we are working hard to plan a fair where we can all celebrate together safely.

We want to thank everyone for their continued support. Stay safe and see you in 2022!

Congratulations Ambassadors for 2019

Ambassadors for the 2019 Sutton Fair have been chosen. All of the candidates spoke very well and their knowledge and appreciation of Sutton Fair was impressive. Congratulations to Sr Ambassador Runner Up Abbie Velocci, Sr Ambassador Madelyn Grossi, Jr Ambassador Silvia Ferreira, and Jr Runner Up Jacob Lacasse. One of the new Ambassador’s first jobs was announcing at the Truck and Tractor Pull on Thursday night. They did a great job! Shout out to Bart Johnson for this photo concept of the Ambassadors in front of the tractor pull.

Georgina Idol Competition – Open Auditions

14th Annual Georgina Idol Competition Open Auditions – a vocal competition open to Georgina youth aged 13 to 18 years of age. The top 10 performers chosen will go on to compete for a grand prize of $1000.00!! The grand and 1st and 2nd prizes are once again generously sponsored by the Members of the Georgina Chamber of Commerce.

Jul 4, 2018 – 06:30pm to 09:00pm

The deadline for applications to be received is Monday, July 2, 2018!

The Georgina Idol Final Competition will be held on the Entertainment Stage at the Sutton Fair on August 12, 2018.
