hairperson: <\/strong>Heather Fullerton<\/p>\n Contact: <\/strong>(905) 722-6886<\/p>\n Committee: <\/strong>Abbie Velocci<\/p>\n The General Rules of the Sutton Agricultural Society shall apply.<\/strong><\/p>\n Prize Money:<\/strong><\/p>\n 1st: $5.00; 2nd: $4.00; 3rd: $3.00<\/p>\n <\/p>\n This year\u2019s Fair theme is \u201cFrom Pioneer Days to Modern Ways\u201d and in honour of this theme, entrants must submit their own copy of Celebrating a Pioneer by Marilyn Lott (see below):<\/p>\n Additional Rules:<\/strong><\/p>\n Section:<\/strong><\/p>\n Sections 1, 2, and 3 ONLY complete the last three paragraphs.<\/strong><\/p>\n Sections 4,5, and 6 complete the FULL poem.<\/strong><\/p>\n Cowboy Boots and Freckles<\/strong><\/p>\n Pioneers were such treasures.<\/p>\n They certainly paved the way<\/p>\n Many diverse kinds of folks<\/p>\n But were different back in the day<\/p>\n Some had strong and firm directions<\/p>\n and others just moseyed along<\/p>\n Took the day as it came to them<\/p>\n Whistling a cowboy song<\/p>\n But the farmers worked so hard<\/p>\n Out in broken fields<\/p>\n Plantin\u2019 their crops night and day<\/p>\n Prayin\u2019 they\u2019d have a good yield<\/p>\n Dustry and dirty every single day<\/p>\n Walking behind that old plow<\/p>\n They sure spent plenty of time<\/p>\n Wiping the sweat off their furrowed brow<\/p>\n Let\u2019s not forget the women, folks<\/p>\n Not only did they work the fields<\/p>\n Cooking, cleaning and raising kids<\/p>\n For a family, they needed to build<\/p>\n Let\u2019s celebrate the pioneers, okay?<\/p>\n And never forget what they\u2019ve done<\/p>\n They shaped the world for progress<\/p>\n And I\u2019ll tell you, it was not always fun!<\/p>\n Author: Marilyn Lott<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \n <\/p>\n Story Theme:<\/strong> \u201cFrom Pioneer Days to Modern Ways\u201d<\/p>\n Your story can be about an actual story (historical) or completely made up (fiction).
